Boston Ballet presents the company debut of the visually interesting and versatile repertory program; Pricked. Presented by artistic director Mikko Nissinen, this is a playful title based on Alexander Eckman's Cacti. Pricked is a compelling and thoughtful work, intertwining dance and music, blending the musicians on the stage amongst the witty dynamism of the dancers.
Also playing is the American premier of DMJ 1953-1977, a lyrical work by artistic director of The National Theatre in Prague, Petr Zuska, there is a poignancy embedded in this exploration of love and longing, as it plays alongside the final production in this program Etudes by Harald Lander.
One of his most well-known works, Etudes is a series of piano studies that explore the nature and technicality of contemporary and classical ballet.
