The following accommodations are available for the comfort and convenience of patrons:
Wheelchair Access for The Opera House
There is an elevator in The Opera House. There are designated wheelchair seats on all levels of The Opera House. Wheelchair seating prices reflect the single ticket price for each section in The Opera House. Seats next to wheelchair seating are available for companions of those patrons in wheelchairs at the single ticket price for that section. Theatre personnel will be available to assist with positioning the wheelchairs inside the theatre.
Information for Special Needs Seating Requests
Any patron with a special seating need (visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical impairment, or any other seating concern) may call the theatre directly to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate their specific requirements. It is not necessary for the patrons to come in person to the theatre to secure their special arrangements.
All Special Needs seating arrangements are handled by the theatre Box Office directly. The special needs line may be dialed directly at (617) 880-2419.
Note: Patrons with special needs may be admitted to the theatre prior to the general public whenever possible. They should speak to an usher at the door and they will notify the management to handle the request.
Hearing Impaired Services/Infrared Listening System
The Opera House is equipped with an infrared listening system for the hearing impaired. Headsets for this system are available at the coat check free of charge. There is an infrared attendant available at each performance, contact any member of the theatre staff for assistance. These headsets amplify (to the desired level) the sounds coming from the stage.
Note: Seats for hearing impaired patrons for which the infrared system may be inadequate, or for patrons wishing to lip-read the performance are available by contacting the Box Office directly by calling (617) 880-2419.
Visually Impaired
Patrons who are visually impaired may purchase tickets within the first rows of the orchestra section. To find out more information please call the special needs line at (617) 880-2419.
ASL Performances
The Opera House presents ASL interpreted performances occasionally throughout the season. To be placed on the mailing list for these performances please call the TTY number at 617.426-3444.

To purchase Special Needs Seats you have three options:

Come in person to The Opera House Box Office
Monday - Saturday 10 am - 6 pm.

Tickets for patrons with special needs can be arranged by phone by calling 617.426.9366 and dialing extension 419 to reach our Special Needs Seating Line. Please leave a detailed message including a day and evening phone number and specific information regarding what kind of special seating need you have. Tickets are also available by calling Ticketmaster but all service charges will apply to orders place through Ticketmaster.
