In this one-off, must-see event, the extraordinary career and works of Stephen Sondheim is brought to full-on Technicolor life, with film footage and live performances of his biggest standards, with brand-new orchestrations by the Pops orchestra. Take a journey back in time to discover the man behind the music in this colorful retrospective. Featuring a staggering two dozen numbers from his catalog that includes Assassins, Into The Woods and Sweeney Todd, this is a unique way to sample his biggest stage hits.
First seen on Broadway in 2010 and praised by New York Times' Ben Brantley, this musical revue was conceived by his regular collaborator James Lapine and originally starred Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams, Michael Arden and Leslie Kritzer performing his best-known songs. Running for three months, it has now been performed across the country with different orchestras and theatre companies!
