Due to a construction-related incident, Moulin Rouge! The Musical has pushed back the beginning of previews and their official Boston World Premiere opening date.
The pre-Broadway engagement will now begin previews July 10, instead of the original date June 27. A new opening night date is still yet to be announced, we will update you as soon as we know - so be sure to stick around in order to find out.
Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident, as the theatre was empty when it occurred. In addition, no damage was done to the set of Moulin Rouge! either. The construction issue was caused by part of the steel grid above the stage of the Colonial Theatre, and they now have crew working around the clock in order to restore the support.
The performance is still scheduled to run through August 19.
If we must have jukebox musicals, I only wish they were all as vivacious and utterly exhilarating as this
