RuPaul's Drag Race Star Blair St. Clair Secures Lead Spot in Regional Premiere of Everybody's Talking About Jamie

The show will run from July 31 to August 29 at the New Hampshire's Weathervane Theatre

RuPaul's Drag Race star Blair St. Clair has been announced as the lead role in the northeast regional premiere of Everybody's Talking About Jamie. The drag star and singer is best known for taking part (and being a fan favorite) in RuPaul's Drag Race during the 10th season and the 5th season of RuPauls Drag Race All Stars. The show will run from July 31 to August 29 at the New Hampshire's Weathervane Theatre.

This isn't Blair St Clair's first acting role, in fact, the drag queen is due to star in Bittersweet (in post-production) and is due to star in John Waters' upcoming musical remake of Bollywood & Vine. Based on a 2011 documentary, Everybody's Talking About Jamie tells the true story of Jamie Campbell, who overcomes prejudice and homophobia to become a drag queen and schoolyard legend. The musical features music by Dan Gillespie Sells and a book and lyrics by Tom MacRae from an idea by Jonathan Butterell.

Weathervane Theatre Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini had this to say about the casting of Blair St. Clair: "Casting is always a nuanced and pivotal part of any process. The role requires a performer to possess many qualitiesintelligence, talent, and star powerbeyond the prerequisites of singing, dancing, and acting. After a thorough casting process, I am thrilled that Blair brought all those qualities and more. I know this performance will elevate a landmark production, and I can't wait to share it with audiences."

Blair has this to say, "I am thrilled to be playing my absolute dream role in my dream show. This show feels like it was written about me and my story. As a queer person, I continue to push for gender equality in theatre, and as a non-binary actor, I am constantly battling being seen as a queer person for who I am internallynot just on the outside. ...Jamie is a story of love and identity, which I want audiences to see more of! I hope audiences can connect with the heart of the story".

The rest of the cast will be announced shortly!
