Why You Should See Blue Man Group

Author KevinKevin, April 22nd, 2024

Not Your Typical Run Of The Mill Theatre Act...

Blue Man Group appeared in the early 1990s and has been taking performance art to new heights ever since. Using body movement, action, and innovation as a medium for entertainment, the art troupe are masters of interactive theatre. So, why have their equally epic and eccentric productions taken them so far across the sea?

They Unite People

Blue Man Group's greatest power is that they don't speak, but still catch us in the feels. People are enamored by these eccentric, bald creatures, who teach a lesson or two in non-verbal communication. Through larger-than-life art displays, including everything from neon paint drums to PVC, and their music and comedy, The Blue Men appeal to all ages and backgrounds with a recipe for wackiness and wonder.

The Creativity Is Next Level

Constantly moving and pulling you into a multisensory experience, Blue Man Group trades traditional theatre for percussion-driven music with custom-built instruments, startling visual effects (made from advanced technology), and interactive LED screens; pipes, paint, and everyday objects are used in unexpected ways to create a jaw-dropping visual experience.

They Love Their Audience

Whether you're catching paint-covered marshmallows or participating in a high-energy drumming sequence, the interactive nature of the performance ensures that the audience is an integral part of the fun. 35 million people and counting of all ages, languages, and cultures have seen the show, so they must be doing something right!

It's Part Everything

Part dance show, part comedy, part musical - a Blue Man Group show cannot simply be categorised into one box, and that's what makes it so wonderful. Most of the time, there's no solid structure or storyline that they follow - the aim is for the audience to just have fun.

Not Just A Local Phenomenon

The Blue Man Group has achieved global fame with resident productions in big cities like New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas, and whilst we may be a little bit biased, catching a show in Boston offers a world-class night of entertainment. The Boston production in particular has been receiving rave reviews from audiences since 1995, with good reason, and is the perfect night out for Bostonians or those visiting the city!
