ClassicalConcerts

Operas in Concert with the BSO

The Boston Symphony Orchestra continues with their string of Operas in Concert with Puccini's one-act Suor Angelica (Sisters Angelica). With renowned soprano Kristine Opolais taking the lead in the titular role the Boston Symphony Orchestra enchants in this evening of glorious music.

The programme also includes Boulanger's short tone poem D'un Soir Triste (A Somber Evening) and Debussy's Nocturnes.

SISTER ANGELICA

Centred upon the titular character Sister Angelica is a one-act Opera which traverses the murky waters of love, honour and desire. Debuting at the MET Opera in 1918 Sister Angelica is the second part of Puccini's Il Trittico of operas and is loved for its heartwrenching yet beautiful tale of ultimate forgiveness.
