ANT KING HAS GOT IT

ADAM was great and he's 67 - Rock on! the band is better than the one from a couple of years ago! I love that album I burned through it when I was 18. I was near the top of the building and the sound was fine so I wonder about the Wilbur's shape has sometime to with the bad mix. I got a parking ticket so out the additional 40 bucks, some strange meter thing that changes to residential after 6pm - my bag but my car was the only one on the street when I came back so I think it's a cash grab

“YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT NOW, BUT YOU WILL”

That line from on of Adam and the Ants songs will forever ring on in my head, since the age of 9 when I accidentally heard his music and seemed to submerge myself in the lyrics and sounds, there wasn’t much of his music around and people were not grabbing on to it the way I did or my friends but we stayed connected to Antmusic for decades quietly waiting for Adam Ant to break out of the music business chains that seemed to be present with most artists at the time. Now since liberated we all have the opportunity to witness an incredible artist of our eon! Do yourself a favor and witness him for yourself. You will be changed once you did. My daughter started seeing him perform at age 4 she is now 11 and continues to look forward to his next performance. Everything about him screams look at me or listen and at the age of his physical body you would think I was joking but I’m not. Just amazing! Beautiful, witty, entertaining! Great band! Performer of our times! Adam-Ant.net. “Woof!”

TOTALLY SATISFIED. COMPLETELY ENTERTAINED. A MUST SEE!

Now don’t let me convince you. Go and see for yourself! I have been throughly rocketed since a young age by this true artist and enigma, so therefore, I am biased! But just because of that fact, I have made it a point over the years as His energy never waned, to make it a point to talk to newcomers and open up and ask people in the town we are in to come to the show! Sometimes offering them a spare ticket I know of or may have. So I am never taking too much of a chance because at the end of the show I come to find out they will be there the next time he comes around and they usually “ARE”!!!! Adam Ant will just, excuse the term, “Knock your socks off!!!” So check Him out next time you hear he is playing. Better yet, go to his website or Facebook page and add an alert for your town or the next closest one and when he comes around, which he will, go!!! The band is young and love touring. Two drummers w/ a Hot little girl drummer Its rock n roll. It’s sexual. Fun. Never a disappointment

ADAM STILL DELIVERS!

Saw Adam last night at the Greek Theater in L.A. the venue itself is fantastic, great seats, great sound, great lighting. The staff were ALL very courteous, helpful & professional. Adam delivered hit after hit with enthusiasm & an amazing level of energy for a 60- something-year old man who's had knee problems over the years. He's a lean, mean, sex machine...still! I saw him back in 1984 when I was 16 & truthfully, Adam seemed every bit the performer he's ever been. I. Couldn't say that about 5 or 6 years ago when I saw him in San Francisco. He had a belly on him & his stamina just wasn't there. It was kind of sad but he's really turned himself around. I absolutely loved the "Kings of the Wild Frontier" tour he did earlier this year...he came back in all his glory & slayed the audience by playing that unforgettable album from start to finish...& some extras to keep us on our feet. Last night was no different...we were dancing to all the "Anthems" all night long. Simply stellar!

WORTH.EVERY.MINUTE

I flew 1000 miles to see this show in that venue. I have been a fan since the 1980's. I think he's better now, both physically and vocally. This band is tight sounding. In these smaller venues, they could just turn off the amps. Nowhere can you stand 10 feet from the stage and honestly say it was not a great experience. So what some words were muffled by the guitars? If you don't know the words by now, you had no right being there :-) I say, keep rocking, Stuart! Thank you for bringing it all back for me!!! xoxoxo

LOVED IT!

I attended the Adam Ant Concert at the Pageant last night and it was so much fun! I saw him twice back in the 80s and was in love with the guy! I can honestly say he’s still got it! I was transformed back to my youth. He played a lot of my favorite Adam Ant songs and he sounded great and the man still has some moves. He played with a lot of energy and sass. I listened to his songs so much back in the day that I still knew every word and danced and sang along! Rock on Adam and please come back to St. Louis.

GREAT SHOW

Admitedly, I was hesitant to attend the show because I'd been a huge Ants fan and didn't want to be disappointed seeing him this late in life, the way I did after seeing Devo. But Ant did not disappoint and put on an energetic, 2-hour show. I liked the two drummers, although they largely played the same beats, unlike the original Ants. Regardless, it was a terrific show and he played a wide variety of the old material, even some 7" B-sides, which I really appreciated. The crowd was 3/4 women, which I thought was hilarious. I guess the man's still got it! My only criticism was the sound at the Phoenix, which sucked. The sound person should be fired. For the first half of the show, you could barely hear the vocals over the drums. For the entire the show, you had to wait a few bars before you could figure out what song they were playing because the guitars were pretty much non-existent in the mix. Despite this, the band put on a very worthwhile show. Glad I went.

ANT MUSIC FOREVER, GREAT SHOW

The show was "wonderful" even though he didn't play wonderful. Loved that he played songs you haven't heard in years. A true performer, he is ageless with pure energy. the band rocked the house with 2 hours of non-stop ant music. The opening band glam skanks were awesome, would love to see them again in the future. Would highly recommend this show to anyone. ant music forever.

ADAM ANT STARTS "FRIEND OR FOE" TOUR IN MILWAUKEE

Friend or Foe set, then: Dog Eat Dog-Kick-Vive Le Rock-Zerox-CarTrouble-Ants Invasion-Ant Music-Prince Charming-Strip-Beat My Guest-Kings of the Wild Frontier-Fall-In-Stand and Deliver Encore: Press Darlings-Red Scab-Physical Excluding the ballad "Wonderful" (and a few 'Prince Charming' charmers) these are likely ALL the songs a fan could dream of hearing, especially in one standing. Hearing all the "F.O.F" songs all at once was disorienting; I hadn't spun both sides for decades. Assessment: many lyrics were just silly & redundant. I forgive him because FOF contains some gems. On to performance. Adam seemed tired. Maybe it was a first show thing; gotta work the bugs out. A few vocal cues missed, but the band powered right through. I wish I'd seen the "Kings of" tour, to compare notes. Adam did some signature dance moves, with some appreciated banter interspersed. All that was lacking was vocal energy & clarity as a whole. So many gold nuggets, overall. All things considered, 4 stars

GREAT SHOW, TERRIBLE SOUND

The show was pretty much what I could hope for in for someone that I saw 30 years ago. He played with energy for about 2 hours. He did a good job of mixing up his music but I was glad to hear many of the old Adam and the Ants tracks. That being said, it was the worst sounding concert I have ever attended. I could not make out most of the words that were being sung.

HORRID SOUND; GOOD MIX; BAD ATTITUDE?

It was great to see the man up after being knocked down so many times. I'd seen him a couple years ago at old Massey Hall, and he still puts on a pretty good concert for the physical limitations of the stage. The sound mix was incredibly WAY TOO BASS heavy; the guitars and vocals were muddied to the point of not being distinguishable. After "You're So Physical", it appeared as though the band walked off stage angry; not sure what was up with that.

MESS

First off, Adam is 62 years-old, not 67 as stated by another reviewer. I was really disappointed in the show. I agree with Matt, the sound was horrific. At times, employing three guitars was overkill. Even two guitars was for the most part. Too much reverb and you could barely hear Adam singing and everything was muddled. Most songs were played with that extra guitar edge leaving some of the songs barely recognizable at times. Young Parisians was the highlight for me. What was also disappointing was that it was supposed to be the Hits tour however he threw in way too many insignificant b-sides when there were so many more actual enjoyable true hits he could have played. Thrilled that he came to Greensburg PA but the delivery was overall dismal and sad. My first time at the Palace Theater and must say that it was a super nice venue and the staff were very courteous. I would definitely recommend the Palace Theater as a venue of choice.

LOVE ADAM, BAD SOUND

I thought it was the venue in Milwaukee responsible for the bad sound for the show...we could barely hear Adam, but looking at other reviews from other places, it looks like Adam's sound crew needs to start over. Loved seeing him and the band, but was left feeling disappointed.

SOUND QUALITY - YIKES

New sound engineer is needed for the tour or for Pantages. While it’s cool to have the wash of sound of two guitars and two drum sets, it’s not cool to have them override the voice. I came to hear Adam Ant, not the bass drum. To be honest, I gave up and went home after about 6 songs. No way to tell if Adam was giving the performance of his life or a completely off-key, garbled lyrics mess, because I got maybe one phrase in 10 clearly. It was pretty clear that the band themselves were frustrated with sound too. It’s really a shame.

POOR SOUND QUALITY

I was so excited AA was making a stop in Milwaukee, not just Chicago., so I bought my tickets right away. The sound was terrible, you couldn't hear AA at all at the beginning. Later when you could hear him he sang a lot of clunkers. I suggest he get a couple of great backup singers to fill in. (The other musicians singing background vocals were ineffective.) I was most looking forward to my favorite AA song, Physical (You're So), but was disappointed by lack of gusto and sexiness. Mostly enjoyed watching and listening to the drummer, Jola.

HE’S STILL AWESOME BUT SOUND SUCKED

Worst sound I have ever experienced couldn’t hear him sing very well and the mix was terrible. Really missed the horn section too. Sound guys should be shot they ruined it for all.

ADAM ANT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING

I took my 19 year old son to see Adam Ant and The English Beat last night at Warner Theater in Washington DC. The English Beat was amazing, Adam Ant not so much. I understand that he is 69 years old, so kudos to him for still performing, but his voice was awful. At one point the couple next to me leaned over and said, "this is frightingly painful to listen to". As far as the band, the percussion was amazing. Both drummers killed it. The rest of the band was average at best. It was so bad, that at least 25% of the audience had left halfway through his set. We stuck it out to the end, but even his encore of his biggest hit, Goody Two Shoes, left much to be desired.
