Relive the magic of Robert Wise's West Side Story, as the Boston Symphony Orchestra accompany a high-defintion, newly remastered screening of the movie.
Considered one of the landmarks of American musical theatre, West Side Story transplants the story of Romeo and Juliet to the Upper West Side, replacing the Montagues and Capulets with street gangs the Jets and the Sharks. This ten-time Academy Award-winning movie adaptation, which was released in 1961, captures all the magic of the stage version. The Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim score is one classic after another, including the songs 'America,' 'I Feel Pretty,' and 'Maria.'
