CLAPTON IS STILL GOD!

Eric Clapton is simply AMAZING! He is a pure joy to watch play and to listen to! He gets the 5 stars. However. the opening bands left alot to be desired...loud and awful! it would have been better to hear Clapton alone with an intermission break, if necessary!

AMAZING PLAYER

For all that he declares is ailing him, you would never know or see it in the playing he does. He is, and will always be, one of the greats in world of guitar. Always able to play effortlessly and flawlessly with every note. We flew in from Colorado just to be there, and my daughter, who would have little knowledge of him other than some name recognition, was amazed and thrilled to be there. Everyone of the musicians are masters of their craft, and all I can say, it was a real treat, play on Eric.

ERIC CLAPTON, CARLOS SANTANA, JIMMY VAUGHN - DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER.

Amazing show with close to 18,000 fans screaming in unison their love and affection several times, we must have damaged the roof! What a talented supporting group on organ, piano, drums, backup guitar, backup vocals, surrounded Eric Clapton's great guitar playing, both acoustic and electric and singing. Thank you! ps I think I also preferred The Fillmore.

CLAPTON TAMPA

Fifth time seeing him, always awesome! Layla played acoustic version my only disappointment but still great. To me, Layla is a staple and gotta let that Fender electric scream. Show was packed, everyone smiling. Great time, nice escape.

MY BROMANCE

Tonight in Hollywood I'll see "slow hand" for at least the 25th time. My first time was 52 years ago at the Fillmore East in the village. Derek and the Domino's live was recorded that night. Its a must for any EC fan. Tonight he will not be introduced. He will simply stroll on the stage with his mates. Walk directly to the mic and say "good evening". With the exception of a post number "thank you" no other words will be spoken. He'll turn from the mic, probably grab "blacky" and off we'll go! At 66 and 52 years later, I can't f..king wait!!!

ERIC

There is no body like Eric. Have seen all his concerts in Detroit since early 70’s and his playing was just as impeccable today at 76 than when he was a younger guitarist. Always an incredible two hours to just sit and listen to the most beautiful guitar player ever.

AMAZING AND MESMERIZING!

I think I've seen EC at least four (maybe five) times in the last 35 years. He never disappoints; you are definitely in for a treat if you've never seen him perform. My only regret was that the concert ended after only one encore (thirty years ago, the crowd could get him to play several encores...I was waiting for some old Cream songs). Still, a fantastic night that was worth the money!

ERIC CLAPTON DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!

This was my fourth time seeing Eric in my life, and as always, EC did not disappoint and concert was great. Being so close, 10th row, felt very personalized. He's in his 70's now, but sure didn't show it in his playing. Really good set list. Pretending Key To The Highway Hoochie Coochie Man I Shot The Sheriff Driftin' (acoustic) Man of The World (acoustic) Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out (acoustic) Tears In Heaven (acoustic) Layla (acoustic) Got To Get Better In A Little While Wonderful Tonight Little Queen Of Spades Cocaine High Time We Went (encore) - with Jimmie Vaughan Only wish he played longer, but hey, did I mention he's in his 70's. One of highlights was encore, where Jimmie Vaughan, who was the opening act, rejoined the band and played Joe Cocker's "High Time We Went".

FIRST CLAPIN SHOW LONG TIME FAN

Man I saw EC loved it!!! little too much acoustic stuff. But hell at 76 I give him mad props he is great. So glad and sad first and most likely last time I will see him. Songs I loved I shot the sheriff badge cocaine, that dirty cicaine worth the price of admission sat way up high cheap seats but sounded perfect no ear ringing after the show. Only pros can do this and still sound loud.

THE BEST

Saw EC 1975 with Joni Mitchell at Providence Civic Center. Amazed that his voice is still smooth and guitar playing is flawless! We were luck to have him perform in Boston. One of the best concerts I have seen.

THE GOAT

Watching and listening to Mr. Clapton play was pure joy for me. If he has aches and pains, it did not show. He was at his best when playing some of the crowd favorites which were more upbeat than some of the acoustic numbers. I do think that Layla should have transitioned to the version that we have come to love. It is iconic and was a little too sedate this way. We got home really late and were super tired today but it was so worth it! Thank you Mr. Clapton

HE WAS AMAZING HE STILLS HAS IT!

Went with my boyfriend and we both were surprised at how incredible he still was and Jimmy.. I have always wanted to see him he was on my list. And I'm so grateful that he was still so good. Enjoyed the whole concert I felt I was in the presence of greatness.

3 GENERATIONS ENJOYED

My 3rd birthday with Clapton. 1st was Phoenix with my son 4 years ago. My son came for me but left ready for more. 2nd with my son 2years ago in New Orleans, shortly after Ida. This last in hometown of Denver. Son again, who forced his 16YO son to attend. My first daughter was excited to come as well. He was visibly older than 2 years ago, depending on his backup band more but his fingers…..still 20 and breathtaking. My reluctant grandson was in total awe. He may be an egomaniac in person, definitely does nothing to charm his audience. One song into another without a word spoken. But…if you get a chance you need to experience genius in person. Clapton may not be God, but he is most definitely inspiring, breathtaking and awesome to watch.

STILL HAS IT!

Having not seen Eric Clapton since Blind Faith, I had very high expectations and was not disappointed. His distinct sound still rings true, and he gave it his all. When he leans his head back, you are in for a treat as he let’s himself go. Foot tapping, body swaying, he is still into making some great music.

ERIC CLAPTON AT CHASE CENTER

I was fortunate enough to see Eric Clapton at the new Chase Center. He did not let me down. Alot of music from his past and present. the place was rocking to a huge crowd. His backup band featured world class musicans. The show did not lag. I would pay to see him again but I feel that is unlikely due to his limited schedule and venue. The show did start slow with Jimmie Vaughn. I would be nice if he featured his back up musicians more instead of just himself. Those Texas blues get stagnant after a while. The new Chase Center is still working out the kinks. The ushers and usherettes are learning the ropes. I hope they work it out soon. I was amazed at the lack of restrooms. While trying to find one was very difficult. You could easily miss a song while searching for a restroom. All said, the show was great and Chase Center looks like a promising place to see a concert or a Warriors game.

SUBDUED ERIC CLAPTON

As a more than 45 year fan of Eric Clapton, I found his concert of Oct 7, 2018 very disappointing. After watching has been Jimmy Vaughn, whom I saw at a county fair 20 years ago, along with Gary Clark Jr, a very good musician who belongs to fans younger than me, Eric basically featured his talented keyboard player, who was exceptional. Eccept for brief flurries, Eric appeared to be happy letting his band solo, in the same order on almost every song. I am not sure what some people saw, but I was disappointed.

SUBDUED CLAPTON

Don’t get me wrong, Eric’s still got it as far as the playing. Acoustic set was pretty bland and standard. Going through the motions. He just did not seem into it. I have seen him live so many times and he just did not seem to be into playing last nights show. Just walked off stage in the end with a wave. Really? And the Santana pop in for what a minute of playing. Waste of time. Did not add anything to the show. Venue is so large they really over did it and the sound/acoustics is not good at all. And with prices what they were!

ERIC CLAPTON

Eric in my opinion is, was, and always will be amongst the absolute best. That being said. As for the new chase center, amongst the worst. The sound system in that place is pathetic. An absolute insult to have as poor a system as that for Eric to perform with. I have seen Clapton perform at least a dozen times. Always an excellent show. But not last night at Chase center. They did him a horrible injustice. As a bay area resident I must apologize to Eric. So Sorry

PLAYING IT SAFE

seen him 3 times now. still has a great voice, but didn't play one song that really "rocked " the house. so many to choose from, but even layla was the acoustic version. almost exclusively ballads. paid top dollar for seats on the floor and feel let down. if he wasn't eric clapton i would have felt cheated.

CLAPTON & CO GREAT. SOUND NOT GREAT.

I took my 21 year old daughter to see Clapton. We LOVED it! ALL the musicians were excellent! Jimmie was astonishing, especially playing guitar in the back of his head. Clapton was great. I hope I have things going well when I reach 78! And the camaraderie between them was fun. BUT the sound and acoustics at the Ball Arena was TERRIBLE! Difficult to hear voices. Distortion. The Ball Arena might be great for an Avalanche game, but NOT for a concert. Really disappointed in this respect.

ERIC CLAPTON

Never again will I step foot into the Ball Arena for a concert. Terrible acoustics, terrible sound system and terrible seating arrangements. This type of sit down acoustics is for a night club, not a huge venue meant for a sporting gathering. Eric is great, but we were not there to sleep.

2.0 star rating Jeff Taylor from New York, New York

90 MINUTES OF UNWANTED WARM UP BANDS

I did not rush to get to MSG on time and pay $800 for four tickets to be subjected to 90 full minutes of warm up bands I totally disliked. Eric Clapton of course was great, but he played for barely more than 90 minutes himself. What a disgrace.

DISSAPPOINTIN

Was excited to see Clapton last night in Tampa (9/25/21) but was very disappointed. Going through the motions. No interaction with the audience, seemed bored. No Cream or Yardbirds songs and a boring version of Layla.. People pay good money to hear the songs they grew up loving. Eric, obviously doesn't get it. Don't waste your money

2.0 star rating Jdc from Denver, Colorado

BALL ARENA 9/26/23

Jimmy Vaughn was horrible. He's playing in a name. That's it. I suspect Eric feels some sense of guilt considering Stevie died leaving one of his concerts therefore he's carrying Jimmy. Eric had no horn section and no percussion section. It was essentially a sit-down show and the acoustics were absolutely horrible. Not sure if it was the Ball Arena or his sound system or the engineering of his sound system but the sound was absolutely atrocious. His setlist was pathetic. He could have come out and rocked the house, but instead he put everyone to sleep. He just went through the motions to collect his huge paycheck and it was terribly disappointing. Especially considering I spent over $600 a ticket because I knew it would be the last time I would ever see him. 👎👎👎

SO SORRY FOR HIM

I have no idea who was doing his sound at the mix but I left after 3 songs that was painful

LACKLUSTER

No energy...no smiling...just going through the motions...no great solos...I've seen him many many time and had always brought the house down. He couldn't have picked out crappier songs...no Badge, no Let it Rain...no Crossroads....he played too clean with his Fender amp...I wanted to see Marshalls ! a huge $300 disappointment... Jimmy Vaughn is not worth paying for, he's just riding on his brothers coat tails. Very sad to see my life long hero go down the tubes...hitting bad notes, etc etc...I could tell he just wanted to be somewheres else...the backup singers weren't good at all....oh how I miss Marcy Levy and Evonne Elliman.. The fans on the floor were playing with their cell phones most of the time, it was So boring ! So sad....and I feel sorry for the people in the really high dollar seats. I got an autographed pic of EC years ago that I will cherish and think of the good ole days..

DISAPPOINTMENT

Very low energy; acoustics were horrible; very disappointed and wasted $229;
