What Did The Critics Think Of SIX At The American Rep?

Now playing through to September 29

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss' pop-fuelled musical SIX has royally landed at the American Repertory Theater! Playing through to September 29, it's time to find out what the critics thought of the British smash-hit...

The Boston Herald was full of praise for the 75-minute concert experience saying, "'Six' pairs perfect pop, wicked humor and dynamic performances with history's horrors" before continuing with, "'Six' is absolutely fun and funny".

The Broadway Journal said "The six wives suffered at the hands of men, but their stories endured. There's an excitement as they sing and dance together, suggesting the power of collective action - when illuminating history, or trying to shape it."

The New York Stage Review mirrored these sentiments with, "Six brings you to your feet in a rousing tribute to woman power, 500 years ago as much as today. A tribute to the power of theatre too."

What is SIX about?

Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, Katherine Parr. You know the names, and you may know how each of their marriages to a certain king came to an end, but these six women are far from just a historical footnote. In Six, the floor is theirs as they tell you what really went down in the court of Henry VIII.

SIX is now playing at the American Repertory Theatre through to September 29.
