Political-Science with a beat
Took a few minutes to get my bearings and was then entranced. Not so much s concert as an immersive art piece that had an impact during and then after the performance. Musicianship was perfect. Makes me think my genetic code may have been altered.
Thunderstruck
Such an astonishing show. Powerful video and lights accompanying ethereal, deep, beautiful sounds from the band, perfectly executed in the Wangs’ opulent and gorgeous-sounding theater. This concert tonight may have altered the course of existence. The best damn show I’ve ever seen in 40 years of rock concerts. Thank you ðŸ™ðŸ»
Massive Attack at Bill Graham Civic
Good show! Sold out! Crowded but not unmanageable! Would be fabulous to have more space so everyone can dance if they want!
Massive Attack live - Montreux 2024
The political 'interjections' in text and images were completely overloaded, lasted well over half the entire duration of the concert (!) and seemed extremely intrusive. The audience was constantly bombarded with numbers or texts. The whole thing was simply unbearable. Many visitors looked at each other questioningly, some left the concert. There's nothing wrong with taking a political stance! But certainly not to this extent - nobody goes to a concert for that! I won't be listening to Massive Attack live again.
Possibly the worst concert I've ever seen
This show felt like an insult to the audience. They sent an email saying 'show starts promptly at 8, get there early" and didn't start until 9:15. They kept the whole band in the dark for the ENTIRE show, obviously because 80% of the music was prerecorded. They tried to play this off by having a giant video screen playing clips, which were lame and hard to watch after a few minutes. Sadly, Horace Andy's voice is completely shot and his memorable songs from Mezzanine were brutally bad. Liz Fraser was the one positive element of the show, she sounded great. Sadly she was in the dark, singing over an iTunes playlist. The band "played" covers where even the lead vocals were obviously playing off a track. At times I swear I looked up there through the mess of cliche video clips, smoke machines, and lighting, and there was no one on stage at all.
Sound quality was awful
Couldn't make out the words, sound was awful, like being under water. Would have been better off listening to the album on a cell phone speaker. My friends and I were incredibly disappointed and we left early
