Why See Boston Lyric Opera - Barber Of Seville?
Figaro, Figaro, Figaro!
Experience the bubbling mania and soaring lyricism of The Barber Of Seville, undoubtedly one of Rossini's greatest works and a masterpiece of the comic opera genre. Lead by resident music director David Angus, the Boston Lyric Opera is set to perform its beloved serenades, duets and rapid-fire patter songs as part of its brand new 2018/19 season, featuring baritone Matthew Worth and mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack.
The riotous story follows a love triangle in which Figaro finds himself caught up in the middle. The Count Almaviva is deeply in love with the beautiful Rosina, but cannot marry her due to the jealous attentions of her guardian Dr. Bartolo. An adventure of bribery, deception and disguise ensues when Almaviva plots to win her hand with the help of his loyal valet Figaro.
