Experience the bubbling mania and soaring lyricism of The Barber Of Seville, undoubtedly one of Rossini's greatest works and a masterpiece of the comic opera genre. Lead by resident music director David Angus, the Boston Lyric Opera is set to perform its beloved serenades, duets and rapid-fire patter songs as part of its brand new 2018/19 season, featuring baritone Matthew Worth and mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack.

October 24 - 28, 2018

Shakespeare's ability to cross the boundaries of colour, gender and even language often makes his works the perfect vehicles for contemporary contextualisation. Measure for Measure, the bard's mediation on the complex relationship between moral and civil justice, as well as the dichotomy of corruption and purity, makes its way to Boston's Cutler Majestic Theatre in a radical, updated staging born from the collaboration between London's Cheek by Jowl theatre company and Moscow's Pushkin Theatre.

Fusing together three inventive works, contemporary tap dance collective Dorrance Dance will perform their pieces 'Three to One,' 'Jungle Blues,' and 'Myelination,' presenting a combination of high energy, precise footwork and original music. The dance company pays homage to traditional tap dance steps whilst bringing their own style.

February 20 - 24, 2019

From the age of 14, French circus pioneer Raphaelle Boitel has performed as a contortionist, dancer and aerialist all over the world, taking on the mantel of director-to-watch in recent years. Don't miss the Boston premiere of When Angels Fall, an interdisciplinary spectacle of dance, cinema and circus arts that transports the audience to a dystopian future where humans tenuous relationship to their dying world poses poignant questions about our present.

The Boston Lyric Opera presents Benjamin Britten's powerful mediation on the corruption of innocence as part of their brand new 2018/19 season. A pioneering production of Britten's Chamber Opera style, the stripped-down work may be performed by just eight singers and thirteen musicians but it remains a richly expressive, emotionally intense and dramatically gripping production that will provoke thoughts and stir souls.
