Wassail Tour

Join Aoife O'Donovan and Chris Thile as they collaborate once more for this cosy Christmas concert this festive season! Named the Wassail Tour, expect to hear beautiful arrangements of Yuletide classics and new material as they bring the spirit of the season to selected venues across the country this December.

What's A Wassail?

A Wassail comes from the old English Christmas tradition where groups would gather together on Twelfth Night (which now falls mid-January) to celebrate the season. Traditionally, they would go around singing to homes across the village, requesting food and drink. If refused, they'd come in away! Still practised in some pockets of the UK today, it's a lot less raucous, but still a fun festive event that includes carols, mulled wine and more.
