British breakout star Raye embarks on a tour of North America this fall, giving American fans one more chance to hear songs from her long-awaited debut album, 21st Century Blues, released earlier this year! The newest sensation from across the pond has quickly become a household name in the UK, making huge waves in the pop world despite being a fully independent artist.
Originally signed to Polydor Records, Raye received an outpouring of support following her public fallout with the label, revealing in 2021 that they had been refusing to release her debut album despite being signed with them since 2014. After finally breaking free from her contract later that year, Raye finally released her album as an independent artist in 2023, leaving label bosses kicking themselves when the singer's stunning R&B tinged pop won the adoration of the British public; her single "Escapism" hit number 1 in the charts, while 21st Century Blues debuted at number 2 in the album charts.
