Why See Boston Symphony Orchestra - Kazuki Yamada conducts Mendelssohn and Berlioz?

ClassicalConcerts

tWO PIANOS SOAR

Boston Symphony welcomes Japanese conductor Kazuki Yamada for an electrifying evening taking the orchestra through Mendelssohn's Concerto in E for Two Pianos and Orchestra and Hector Berlioz' Symphony Fantastique, alongside virtuosic pianist siblings Lucas and Arthur Jussen.

Mendelssohn's 1823 concerto is the perfect showcase for the exhilarating dynamism of the Dutch piano duo, despite the composer initially refusing to publish it during his lifetime. Symphony Fantastique, meanwhile, is a true classic of the genre, a passionate piece written in 1830 to win the heart of Berlioz' crush Harriet Smithson. Witness an evening of classical delights with BSO!
