Black Swan

Black Swan at American Repertory Theater

Why see Black Swan?

I Felt It. Perfect. It Was Perfect.

Tony Award winner Sonya Tayeh returns to the American Repertory Theater with a bold new stage adaptation of the Academy Award-nominated psychological thriller Black Swan! The A.R.T. has launched acclaimed productions like Waitress and Gatsby on their journey to Broadway, making this your chance to experience Black Swan before it potentially becomes the next must-see phenomenon sweeping the nation into madness!

What's The Story?

Nina's world tightens around her as she fights her way from the ballet corps to the lead role in Swan Lake. Pressure builds, control slips away, and reality begins to fracture. Ambition drives her harder while perfection demands more and more, until nothing around her feels stable anymore. Obie Award winner Dave Malloy reimagines Tchaikovsky's iconic themes through a pulsating electronic score that pushes classical ballet into darker, more immersive storytelling territory, while Guggenheim Fellow Jen Silverman brings the psychological thriller to life with a contemporary book.
