Why see The Summer of Love and Humanity - Love In An Elevator?

World Premiere

Experience love without the heartbreak and enjoy a different musical performance each evening from one of the fifteen bands that are as diverse as the play's cast!  The Summer of Love and Humanity Festival at the Boston Center For The Arts, Plaza Theatres features an evening of live music from local bands, followed by a performance of Love In An Elevator, by Richard Ravosa, a play inspired by Plato's Symposium.

A mash-up of the ancient Athenian banquet and modernity, takes center stage in the Athens of America, rounding out what just may be the most diverse cast in a Boston theatre this summer. A rabbi, professor, chef, anarchist, musician, nurse, patient, lawyer, construction worker, and his fiancee, are all trapped inside a hospital elevator. To pass the time, they take turns musing on that most elusive of subjectslove. And of course, someone has to pee!  Complete with cameo appearances by Pan and Syrinx.   

Pay What You Can performances are Thursday July 27th, Wednesday August 2nd and Thursday August 3rd. $5 minimum.

All proceeds donated to MDRF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those unduly burdened with excessive debt, often due to catastrophic injuries, illness, job loss, or loss of financial support from divorce or death, by providing compassionate pro bono legal representation to overcome debt with dignity and restore peace of mind.
