The North American premiere of this stunning work
The North American premiere of this stunning work
A stunning contemporary piece created by the U.K's Royal Ballet Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor in collaboration with the Boston Ballet, Obsidian Tear makes its much anticipated North American premiere this winter. Inspired by the other worldly compositions Nyx and Lachen Verlernt by Esa Pekka Salonen, this all male piece is a powerful and athletic journey that weaves together drama, violence, and vulnerability with astonishing grace and innovation.
This program also includes the world premiere of Boston Ballet's Resident Choreographer Jorma Elo's new work,Fifth Symphony of Jean Sibelius, as inspired by Sibelius's haunting tone poem, Finlandia.
