The first of many comedy blowouts kicks off!

A brand-new comedy tradition for Boston will be kicking off this April, with a host of local humorists who are regular performers on the local stages, as well as having toured nationally and beyond! We've no idea how it has taken this long for a new comedy festival to appear in the city, seeing as the Wilbur is pretty much THE prime venue for stand-up shows, but be sure to get involved with what is expected to be an annual celebration of Boston-based comedy! Heading the inaugural shenanigans will be Christine Hurley, Don Gavin, Orlando Baxter, Steve Sweeney , Tony V and Will Noonan.

Four hours north of New York City, and a huge college town, Boston has become a prime area for new comedic talent to emerge, with humorists including Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Steve Carell and Amy Poehler all honing their talents in the various underground clubs dotting the city.And who knows, this Blowout may just feature the next big thing in comedy....
