The stunning talents of Renee Fleming are showcased in this exciting program, featuring the world premiere of Kevin Puts' BSO Co-Commission 'The Brightness of Light'. Based on the twisting relationship between Georgia O'Keefe and her husband Alfred Stieglitz and written for Fleming, Puts weaves the words of their letters to each other to create a vivid portrait of the visionary artist's life and career. Alongside Fleming, Rod Gilfry takes on the role of Alfred as Wendall Harrington's stunning projections add another dimension to the piece.
Setting the mood for the evening, a presentation of Elgar's Enigma Variations will open proceedings as conducted by Andris Nelsons.
