Boston Symphony Orchestra - Rachmaninoff and Sibelius

Boston Symphony Orchestra - Rachmaninoff and Sibelius at Tanglewood Music Center

Why see Boston Symphony Orchestra - Rachmaninoff and Sibelius?

Challenging heights

Enjoy a glorious Sunday matinee at Tanglewood this summer with this excellent program from the Boston Symphony Orchestra led by Russian conductor Dima Slobodeniouk. Featuring the esteemed talents of Yefim Bronfman, the concert will open with Rachmaninoff's technically challenging masterpiece, his Piano Concerto No.3.

Composed in 1909, the piece has long been seen as a towering task for pianists of all skill levels - one you can be sure Bronfman can match! Alongside, there will be a presentation of Sibelius's rarely played 1899 Symphony No.1
