Boston Symphony Orchestra - Ravel, Haydn, Ades and Mozart at Tanglewood Music Center

Why see Boston Symphony Orchestra - Ravel, Haydn, Ades and Mozart?

The Seasoned Nelsons Paired With The Youthful Trifonov

The Boston Symphony Orchestra has made Tanglewood Music Center its summer home since 1937, and as part of their 2017 season, Andris Nelsons will conduct four pieces with featured performer, Daniil Trifonov: Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin, Haydn - Symphony No. 83, La Poule, Thomas Ades - Three Studies from Couperin and Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 21 in C, K.467.

The young Russian concert pianist, Daniil Trifonov, first rose to worldwide fame after winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition at just 20 years old, soon followed by his Carnegie Hall debut and a series of much-applauded solo recitals. Andris Nelsons, BSO's 15th musical director, made his debut at Tanglewood in July 2012 as part of their 75th Anniversary Gala and continues in his impressive leadership. To borrow the name from a 2013 biographical documentary film about the critically acclaimed conductor, Nelsons is indeed a "Genius on Fire", which means audiences are in for a treat!
