The world's oldest annual marathon, the Boston Marathon is as synonymous with the city as clam chowder and dodgy accents in movies. Directed by award-winning filmmaker (and keen marathoner himself) Jon Dunham, Boston - The Documentary explores the evolution of the world famous race, from its beginnings in 1897, through the tragic events of 2011 and right up to 2014. The film features tons of archival footage as well as interviews with some of the greatest runners to ever take on the Hopkinton to Boston route.
For this world premiere, which takes place just a few blocks from the finish line, the screening's score will be be played live by the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, with Emmy winner Jeff Beal conducting.
