Chicago & REO Speedwagon

Chicago & REO Speedwagon at Xfinity Center

Why see Chicago & REO Speedwagon?

What's better than one classic rock band from Illinois? Why, two classic rock bands from Illinois of course. REO Speedwagon and Chicago have joined forces for a co-headlining tour which will run for the month of August. Both bands careers have spanned the decades, selling countless millions of records between them. Chicago's commercial peak came with 1976's Number 1 single If You Leave Me Now, while REO are maybe most well known for their power-ballad Can't Fight this Feeling Anymore, which has been covered by everyone from Russell Brand (in the movie Rock of Ages) to Glee.

The two groups will be performing their own mini-sets before joining together for the encore. The only problem will be choosing which tracks to pluck from their two mammoth catalogues.

Chicago/REO Mansfield MA

As a many many decades fan of CHI I got what I wanted Sunday evening. Something from Chicago that i've never heard before in concert. The rendition of Chicago II was great...especially Fancy Colours, In the Country, It Better End Soon, and Poem for the People. The second part of their set were about 10 or so of the basic chestnuts usually performed. Enjoyed all (except the power ballads) and look forward to their 2019 tour. I find the comments interesting about being surprised / disappointed about the CHI set-list for this concert. A brief check of their website (starting months ago) would have shown you the plan for 2018. I bought tickets to this event not giving 2 hoots about REO but I sat there as an adult enduring their sound and applauded respectfully after all songs. Get a grip folks.........it's music.......and two completely different bands/ sounds / styles. ... Read more

Chicago II is a great album

Chicago advertised that they would be playing their second album in it's entirety, and in my opinion did a great job performing it!!! Sadly many people enjoy only "hits". ... Read more

Chicago and REO

I thought REO was ok, but I totally loved Chicago. The thing I've always loved about them is their horns. I thought they were phenomenal. They may have not performed all their hit songs, but what they did play was great. ... Read more
