Beautiful puppetry and visual theatre in Dead As A Dodo
Dead As A Dodo is a joyfully heartwarming new musical theatre work from Wakka Wakka, the non-profit visual theatre company based between Oslo, Norway, and New York. Created and directed by Gwendolyn Warnock and Kirjan Waage, this production is another visually inventive, object-driven story from the company, combining puppetry, live performance and original music to build an imaginative theatrical underworld, with a tale about friendship between boy and Dodo! With music and sound design by Thor Gunnar Thorvaldsson and figure design by Waage, glorious handcrafted puppets with a dynamic ensemble create a visually stunning show!
In the underworld, the skeleton of a dodo and young boy are looking for bones they can use to replace their own failing ones, to avoid fading away. But when the dodo unexpectedly starts growing feathers again, their world is turned upside down, throwing them into a dangerous chase trying to escape the angry Skeleton King. A tale of friendship and surviving by sticking together, don't miss this visual treat!
